What to Eat in Ha Long Bay

Halong Bay is rich in seafood and offers tons of fish, shrimps and oysters. The catch served in most restaurants usually comes right out of fishing boats in the early hours of the morning. There are many good restaurants located in Bai Chay Town (Halong Bay Town) and most are the beachfront type. These eateries offer mainly Vietnamese and Chinese dishes with a good selection of seafood, however lately there are more international options to be had.

Hung Temple Festival “ The people who live or travel everywhere Remember to worship the anniversary day of our ancestor on the 10th day of the Third Lunar month” The Hung Temple is tied to the historical legend of the Viet ancestor: Mr. Lac Long Quan got marriage to Lady Au Co who gave birth to 100 eggs, from which 100 children came into being, of whom 50 followed their father Lac Long Quan to the sea; while 49 others followed their mother, Lady Au Co to the highlands. The eldest son of Lac Long Quan stayed here to become the first king of Van Lang State. During Van Lang State, there were 18 Hung Kings. In Khanh Hoa Province, the festival is organized annually on the 10th day of the third lunar month at Hung Vuong Temple, which situated on Ngo Gia Tu Road, Nha Trang City. This temple was built in 3 years from 1971 to 1974. This festival includes of respected joss-sticks offerings and offering flowers. All leaders of the province, departments, offices, and the representative religious, people within province attend the festival.

Ho Chi Minh City names best tourism brands

Ho Chi Minh City - country’s biggest tourism center, last Saturday announced the best Vietnam travel firms, hotels, travel websites, shopping venues and tourism service providers in the city.
Four companies of Vietnam tour – Saigontourist Travel Service, Fiditourist, Ben Thanh Tourist and Vietravel – are all included in the lists of the top 10 inbound companies, 10 outbound companies and 10 domestic companies.

All these companies but Fiditourist are in the top five with the best e-commerce websites, together with Viet Media Travel and TST Tourist.

Hue Festival to be held next April

The Hue Festival 2012 will be held next April in the central province of Thua Thien Hue.
Under the theme ‘Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development- Rendezvous of Historical Cities’, the festival, the seventh of its kind, will be a spotlight of the National Tourism Year 2012, which will also be hosted by the province.

The festival, slated for next April 7-15, aims to realise a government decision on making Hue a Vietnam’s festival city and to affirm Thua Thien Hue to be one of Vietnam’s unique culture-tourism centres.
